For Parents

During this one-week "crash-course" in business, students will meet new friends from across Colorado and Wyoming, live on a college campus, work with Good Times Burgers & Frozen Custard on an "Apprentice"-style project, learn how local business got their start, and find out more about themselves and their futures.

Interactive presentations and small group discussions delivered by prominent Colorado Business executives become the academic backbone for the highly educational and informative week. Simultaneously, students work in "companies" of 10-15 students on an "Apprentice"-style project, with the help of a company advisor.

The students get a taste of college life by spending the week on a university campus and living independently in the residence halls. Experienced resident advisors, company advisors, and staff from both Junior Achievement and Johnson & Wales University stay overnight to ensure a safe environment for all.

JA Business Week has a 23-year history in the state of Colorado, and this is the 8th year that it will be sponsored and run by Junior Achievement.

"[My daughter] entered the program without knowing what to fully expect, and completed the week with a renewed energy and spirit of accomplishment. The diverse attendee population, dedicated staff, and corporate sponsors provided a learning experience that is unmatched for high school aged youth."
